India Mahdavi studio is known for the delighted projects that can take to a colorful wonderland like no other interior designer.  Her interior design projects are elegant, fluid, and reflect the essence of their location.
Mahdavi has become more than exceptional interior designer, she is also a brand, interprets her rich mix of cultures and colors, into a high-end, joyful, and happy interiors.

India was born in Tehran and then raised between the US, Germany, and France.  She believes that her passion for color comes from her Irano-Egyptian heritage.

“I was passionate about films; interior design seemed a perfect space to express my vision.”
She confessed that her dream was to become a filmmaker but it was such a challenging industry she ended up to study architecture. Although different areas she can see the connections between the two arts, movies and architecture. “It is quite close to making movies, from the narrative to the production to the actors to the promotion.”

 “I like putting colors in danger”

In an interview at Harper’s Bazaar Interiors India she talk about her strong relation with color. “But what’s difficult is to be able to choose the right element that is going to come in and make [a project or object] work”

Red Valentino Store

The interior of this Red Valentino store in London has 170-square-meter and the signature of India Mahdavi is implicit in every detail of this project, with accents of bubblegum- pink and vibrant ochre against a white backdrop.

India Mahdavi worked together with the Red Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli who said: “The initial idea, together with India, was to create an intimate and emotional space” and “A meeting place that favors dialogue, a virtual and real exchange of ideas.”

The Gallery at Sketch

This fascinating restaurant is located in the mesmerizing London city. This project dates from 2014, but it is still one of the most impressive works of this top interior designer. The client was Mourad Mazouz and the artwork was from David Shrigley.

This incredible restaurant has had international recognition and has won many awards such as best London restaurant + best UK restaurant/restaurant and bar design awards 2015 best restaurant (relax & consumer category) / great indoors awards (frame magazine) 2015 the best restaurant in Mayfair / time out loves London awards 2015.

Ladurée Quai Des Bergues

You can find this project in Quai Des Bergues in Genève, Swizerland. The main concept of this 2016 project is a garden of sweets that celebrates the encounter of the French grove and gluttony.

The sofas are beautiful not only in color but also in shape.

Ladurée Beverly Drive

Located on the North Beverly Drive in Los Angeles, this is one of her most recent projects. In this 2017 amazing project, the main concept behind is Marie-Antoinette makes a stop at Hollywood, in a French pop garden.

The mesmerizing green shade e followed by different geometric patterns (walls and floor), that at the first sight might not be a match, but as a matter of fact, they work very well together.

Café Français

The location of the Café Français, standing partly on the vestiges of the former prison is central to this. The interior of Café Français designed by India Mahdavi in collaboration with M/M Paris in Paris brings reinterpretations of geometric type and great surface adornment.

Blending classic & modern for The Costes brothers, the cafe has a very strong visual identity thanks to M/M Paris. The logo can be seen used throughout the space, ceiling, flooring, furniture, and application of mirror and stone on the walls.
