BRANCH SHELF BY JORIS LAARMAN

Laarman works at the interface of design, art and science, always exploring new materials and innovative technologies. His remarkable work, like Branch Self, is often based on multiple experiments. Laarman has taken part in numerous exhibitions and many of his works are found in the prestigious collections of MoMA, New York, the Centre Pompidou, Paris, and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.

 

DARK ANGEL ARMOIRE BY SCARLET SPLENDOR

Dark Angel Armoire is a beautifully textured cabinet. It combines classic lines with the whimsical flutter of wings and rich metal detail. It is a piece of art in the space it occupies.  The Dark Angel collection comprises signature pieces of furniture styled in classic colonial lines and trimmed in gold. Whimsical wings lend a note of chic to the essential functionality, transforming each piece into an installation. Sensuously textured in the colour of the night, and as angels do, they linger for eternity with their owners. This fabulous cabinet is made of teakwood and fibreglass.

The striking Boom Boom Burst chandelier by Lindsey Adelman was selected as one of the most powerful contemporary lighting chandeliers.  Made in vintage brass with clear and gold foil globes, cobalt spikes and black barnacles, it combines the vintage style with the Medieval flail.  This contemporary lighting was conceived by mixing the look of vintage French jewelry — especially the 1930s, the well-known era Lanvin collarettes, with a Medieval flail, and it uses the same essential vocabulary as the Branching series.
